Virosac, founded in 1973 and headquartered in Pederobba (Treviso, Veneto), produces innovative and environmentally-friendly household products, primarily waste bags. It was the first company to be granted a license for the use of biopolymer MaterBi extracted from corn and produced by Novamont. Since the late 1990s, Virosac has obtained essential certifications attesting to the use of biodegradable and compostable materials. The products are designed to reduce raw material waste, using recycled materials and minimizing secondary packaging.
In October 2019, Virosac was sold to a group of private investors in the contest of a competitive process co-ordinated by Altium Capital.
